Level B1 – Pre-Intermediate: Course Content
This course is designed for learners who have a solid foundation in Italian and want to further develop their ability to communicate in a wider range of situations with increased fluency and accuracy.
Key Objectives:
- Expand vocabulary related to topics such as work, education, travel, and leisure activities.
- Improve conversational skills, enabling learners to discuss opinions, describe experiences, and narrate events.
- Enhance grammar knowledge, including:
- Imperfect tense (imperfetto) and its use alongside the passato prossimo.
- Future tense (futuro semplice) for expressing plans and predictions.
- Conditional mood (condizionale semplice) for polite requests and hypothetical situations.
- Introduction to the subjunctive mood (congiuntivo presente) for expressing doubt, emotions, or opinions.
- Prepositions and their usage in more complex contexts.
- Develop listening skills with authentic audio materials such as interviews and short stories.
- Strengthen reading comprehension using articles, short stories, and everyday materials like advertisements or brochures.
- Practice writing structured paragraphs (e.g., opinion pieces, short essays, and letters).
Teaching Methods:
- Guided discussions and role-playing activities to practice fluency.
- Group activities and problem-solving tasks to encourage collaborative learning.
- Focused grammar workshops with practical exercises.
- Multimedia resources such as Italian films, podcasts, and news clips to expose learners to real-world language usage.

- Understand the main points of spoken and written materials on familiar topics.
- Express themselves more confidently and coherently in both spoken and written Italian.
